The Self is actually not a bunch of identifications, but rather the focal point - not of the connection of your identifications, but rather the focal point of their contradictions, the point where they clash. That's why Stirner approaches the Self in his book by playing different identifications against each other over and over again - assuming one in order to attack another, then shifting to the other in order to attack the first, and so on and so on.
