Both of you are exhibiting fallacious reasoning. While Western media does exaggerate the reliability of the accounts of certain people, who themselves can't prove such, there is regardless a lot of indication that China is indeed treating its Muslims in Xinjiang unjustly. Here's an example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v7AYyUqrMuQ
The manner in which the authorities are forcing people to delete footage, interrogating people who merely came into contact with a journalist, and marching people off in the dead of night definitely is worthy of scrutiny as to what's going on. The West may lie about some stuff but it's foolish to disregard the matter entirely because of this.

Go through posts under the tag "uyghur"
For the record, China is imposing legal consquences against radical islamist terrorists. The "Myghur tribe" community has remained separate from these leverage artists of Wahhabism. Meanwhile, the legal consequences have been leveraged against those radicals who justify their occupation of the Chinese desert in similar religious motives to landbearing titleship.

There is literally zero evidence for those camps even existing. If you dig into the origin of the accusation you'll find information about a UN commitee

During the committee’s regular review of China, McDougall commented that she was “deeply concerned” about “credible reports” alleging mass detentions of millions of Uighurs Muslim minorities in “internment camps.” The Associated Press reported that McDougall “did not specify a source for that information in her remarks at the hearing.”

Who exactly is this McDougal? You'll find more if you read the article, but they're an American with no credentials wrt China.

A spokesperson from the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) confirmed in a statement to the Grayzone that the allegation of Chinese “camps” was not made by the United Nations, but rather by a member of an independent committee that does not speak for the UN as a whole. That member happened to be the only American on the committee, and one with no background of scholarship or research on China.
